We knew going into the purchase that we would have to replace the roof. Not because of the color, but because it was so close to the end of it’s life, We really struggled with deciding about the roof color. At one point, I thought we should go red again!

blogpicAfter a vote of 3-1, it was decided that we would not go red again. We went with a slate color, which has a lot of green in it. We will be painting the garage doors, but that may not be until spring.

We chose Mark Garron of Garron-Teed Roofing. The roofers arrived at the break of day, and it went from quiet to full blown busy by 8:00 am.

There were 10 men and they worked fast. The old roof was completely removed in less than 2 hours. While this was going on, EnviroAdvantage returned and treated the underside of the roof in the attic with a microbial paint to make sure there would be no return of any mold in the future and replaced all of the second floor bathroom fan exhaust systems with new duct work and brand new venting.

As the day progressed, I couldn’t help but marvel at the change taking place. The roof color really made a difference to the overall appearance of the house
